I have a call into Siemens to verify that they own Oxford. However, I am not sure it is a big deal. The magnet of the "tube devices" is generally the least sophisticated piece. Siemens will be happy to provide that piece of hardware to anybody that wants it. Open magnet designs, however, are apt to vary more substatially and that is where patents are going to be (are) important.
