To ALL (and especially Mr. Lanza):
I was just passing through this thread yesterday and could not help noticing the latest developments here. I really really enjoyed the top 10 LAN-PHONICS. In fact I showed that to a few friends at work and we all enjoyed it very much. Someone actually got a print out of it and put it on his office door next to a picture of a brain being crushed by a dumb computer with the title saying: "This is your brain, this is the computer, and this is what happens when your brain has been under too much pressure by a computer!", and the top 10 list is next to that! We also all agreed that David Letherman will be more than glad to read those top 10 items in his nightly show. And in fact someone will be sending him a letter to point out XECM (as the company and also the 'stock').
Anyway, Since I noticed Joseph has already made some remarkable comments I think the top 10 list will grow as time is passed. My most favorits are of course all of them but 3 that I can not ever forget:
Just like the people behind the shorts, confuse the peasants, get them fighting, get them looking in the wrong direction and then victory. 2/28/97
Addi, here's some informatio for you: 1. Shares issued, legally: 10,548,972. (2/26/97)
Fair is fair. good for them, good for us! The first rat that breaks is what we want. Let them feed on each other and take delivery. 3/6/97
I was very confused that Mr. Lanza stated the number of share issued legally!! I have no idea how can a company issue shares ilegally?!! As for the other 2 statements I think they have already been brought up in the top 10 list.
On a serious side, Mr. Lanza in his last comments stated:
> So, Lurker, Mouth, Webster, if you can show me and the others > why the stock is down, other than what I have said, then let's hear > from you. Stop your smoke babbling and spell it out.
Well eventhouh this question was not asked of me and since I feel bad just to rationally and rightfully look at Mr. Lanza as a guy who may have lead some poor lambs to the slaughter house (as someone put it very nicely) I will attempt to give a few reasons as why XECM is not and perhaps will never go up in price (and it if does it will purely be based on hype if any):
Xecm is in a business dominated by bigger players such as AT&T, Sprint, and MCI. Eventhough XECM may claim they have contracts with these bigger players to provide services for military sites and others it is just a matter of time for them to be kicked out totally. In telecommunications there is no place for a little player like XECM. Absolutely NO PLACE, and no mercy! A few control the market and with the telecommunication laws that were passed last year these few players have become very compettitive with each other in providing services to maintain their own market share. As this compettition grows prices will decline and it is the consumer that will benefit greatly. Just look at AT&T the grand daddy of all. They are providing many of their services in great discount and that is why their profit margins have declined and so has their stock price. Nextell Communications, and WorldCom are also aggressively going after the same market XECM is trying to get a little tiny share of and as time goes on XECM will lose the chance of even dreaming of getting this market share! XECM could have become a hot momentum stock back in 1995 if the telecommunications laws had not been passed the way it did. Bigger players such as AT&T, Sprint can now get into providing local services the same they do in providing lon distance services. And do you really think a tiny player like XECM has even a chance of getting in fight with these bigger players?! If you look at their last earnings report you will notice that both their revenue and earnings have gone down BIG time over 1995. The company incurred its net loss of $1,348,110 or $.15 per share for the third quarter ending September 30, 1996, as compared to a loss of $479,805 or $.09 per share for the comparable quarter of 1995. Revenue for the period was $799,464 down 57% over the comparable 1995 period. And this will worsen as time is passed and those bigger boys will leave no room for a company like XECM to survive. For AT&T or WorldCom to provide their services free does not hurt them at all, but it will hurt companies like XECM.
That Mr. Lanza is one of many reasons as why XECM is down and does not have much volume. Investors are not dumb. A Stock does not go up or down based on your assumption of some personal hostility against the stock in Canada (!) or in US. The reason a stock goes up or down is because of the company's bottom line revenue and earnings. And those, sir, are not in place for XECM (at least is not seen by investors out there today). It is as simple as that! There is no war announced by shorts (!!!??!!!) or longs, no hostility by Canadians, etc. The company simply does not have the fundamentals, sir.
