Yep, I even read the original Fukayama article in the National Interest. I am an internationalist, but I agree that there is something overboard with both. I think that the thesis that the United States represents the avant- garde in social development is correct, and that it is the model for non- ethnic nationalism, and I also agree that we have probably reached the end of militant ideologies. On the other hand, I was not surprised that history in a non- Hegelian sense should have reasserted itself at the end of the Cold War, and I think that Wattenberg discounts the importance of the core Anglo- American culture and its integrity too much....
