Hi Bill,

Sounds like you have used up all your ram at that point and Windows 98 starts swapping everything to virtual memory on the hard disk, which is much slower ... If your disk light is very active at that time, you know that is what is happening.

Think about going to 64 mb or 128 mb of ram ... It is dirt cheap lately (About $45-$50 per 32 mb on your machine).
