I agree wholeheartedly. The stock market had a significant part in the goldilocks economy of the recent 4 years. A 30-40% decline would trigger a snowball that could create a Big Depression.
Consumer demand will drop as a result of a big correction in equity prices, because consumers have no cushion. Then the snow ball will start rolling.
