Help! Can someone clue me in to the ticker problem that's blocking trades? Christ! What the hell is going on this morning? I try to place a limit order on DLJDirect for EMUS and ETrade, but neither one recognized that ticker. So I placed a limit order (33) on GDNO at DLJ before market open. I hit the refresh button on my order status every minute for the next 15 minutes, had to leave my desk at work for a few minutes, then just called directly to find out it was in the process of being cancelled. So then I urgently request an order with the broker on the phone. I was on the line for 16 minutes. He said it opened around 35 but dived down to 29, because that was under my limit I ask if it's safe to place a market order. He assured me it wouldn't take long and the trading volume/float was liquid. So I place the market order, after being on hold for a few minutes he says the system failed to recogize the ticke EMUS so he had to execute using an alternate system. After being on hold again for a few minutes, he gets back to say the order's been placed but not executed and it may take a while. I've tried several real-time quote sites and NONE of them recognize EMUS. And I don't know how long it took to try executing my order. So, I have no idea what I bought the stock at, if at all. My order could've gone through at 100 on an intraday spike! I just tried to post to the Raging Bull GDNO forum, which sees a lot of traffic, to get some info. BUT, that board has been rejecting all posts to the board since around 9:00 AM. Ahhh! Are ticker changes always this rough? Damn, I've had a crappy morning. (Voluntary Disclosure: Position- I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE!!!; LT Rating- Strong Buy)
