Paul - RE: "Just WHAT do you think is looking good?" If you are asking about the K7's performance "looking good" - No quantitative amount. My measurement is that the results have to make me smile. To make me smile, the results would have to be akin to the K6-III's performance in Winstone 99 (non high end)run on Win9X and NT. (That doesn't mean the K7 has to be good at Winstone 99, but good like that in more than one benchmark.) Oh yeah, after I smile, I will start to laugh...at Intel! If you are asking about why I think the K7 is "looking good" in general - Two analysts have said yields (at Fab25) are either looking better than expected or they are good. The Compaq support is good. The motherboard maker support is good. The fact that the K7 isn't dependent on any type of memory (expecially the DELAYED RDRAM) is also good. The coming out at a higher MHz than Intel is also a good. On the flip side, the delays from other K7 chipset makers isn't good. Anything else? I am sure you can find more...
