I believe it's CorePoint rather than CenterPoint. But that error is a sign of their problems. Nobody knows about it. And nobody's buying it. Maybe IBM is ready to change their approach?

Keep in mind that for every dollar in license revenue that is spent on SEBL, $1-5 dollars are spent on services to implement it. IBM is always looking for new drivers to grow their services revenue. I believe that GBIS is their fastest growing division.

I agree that Tom Siebel would not fit in at IBM. Neither would most of his sales force. But either did Tivoli's and IBM managed to assimilate Tivoli pretty well.

IMO, the biggest argument against this rumor is that IBM doesn't have any successful experience with enterprise software applications. e.g. CorePoint. (I don't think Lotus counts as an enterprise application.)
