Analyzing open interest gives you an idea where the market makers might want to see the stock when options expire. They like to see options expire out-of-the-money!!

Put-call ratio can give you a clue as to outlook... bullish or bearish.

Analyzing daily put and call volumes can help predict near term movements in underlying stocks (maybe even identify a take over candidate!!).
