<..how many companies are working on a G.lite product?..>

over 15

<..will all of them owe royalties to awre?...>

None. (see previous posts, ~40 back). AWRE licenses patent and technology know-how for companies who don't have resources to develop internally. Several who had originally licensed AWRE's tech (such as LU) are close to having their own solution.

<..what is the next most likely product if G.lite is not the standard?..>

There will be interoperability (a major step toward standardization) at Supercom next week. There is also the current ANSI T1E1.413 full rate ADSL standard that uses the Amati IPR algorithm for bit-swapping, though the market has several newer non-standard but compelling xDSL approaches coming to market soon.
