Thought you piffers might like to read the Dorsey-Wright summary in a special "finalists" section for the Entrepreneur Of The Year Award that appeared in the local Richmond newspaper insert today...(abbreviations and typos are mine!) <<Passionate about his work, Dorsey began his financial career as a stockbroker for Merrill, Lynch, Pierce Fenner & Smith in 1974. In 1987, at the age of 40 (Dorsey's target date for starting a company), Dorsey, along with Wright, formed DWA, Inc. Since starting the company, Dorsey has written a best-selling book, "Point and Figure Charting." His second book, "Thriving as a Broker in the 21st Century," will debut in August, 1999. Dorsey has traveled the world teaching the Dorsey-Wright research methodology. He has been awarded the Distinguished Speaker Award at Wharton School of Finance Securities Industries Association and has been featured on "The Today Show" for his contribution to the community -- he taught Economics and Investing at the Va. State Penitentiary. He is currently a regular on CNBC. Wright began his career in the investment business in 1977 at Wheat, First Securities where he learned P & F charting and met Dorsey. Today, Wright serves as the CFO at DWA. In the beginning of 1994, D-W realized the need to incorporate cutting-edge technology in the company's strategic plan. In the last five years, technology has enabled DWA to advance from a phone dial-in system to a fully integrated, live Internet product. Clients are now afforded immediate and constant access to the D-W research database, tools and analysis. DWA's equity research strategies continue to evolve through groundbreaking in-house research. The one word that best describes DWA is family. It has always been D-W's philosophy to allow their employees to think on their own. Employees know their input is valuable in the decision-making process of the company> > Great write-up, Tom (and nice pictures of you and Wright, too!) Everyone think positive...EOY awards presented June 10!!!
