IMHO the only problem with Marxism is that is does not work.

It is an interesting mental exercise to view history from a Marxist point of view, some very good analysis. But when a Marxist turns around and looks forward, all bets are off. Proving that having a good method for analyzing the past is not a guarantee one can predict anything about the future.

One of my professors was an ardent Marxist. (I referred to him in classes as "The Most Social, Socialist, Sociologist" which I think he enjoyed). As I pointed out once in class, it occurs to me that the only problem with Marxism is that it utterly fails to take into account human nature.

Which is why there has never been a Marxist state, never will be, and why attempts at forming one are doomed to failure. It could possibly work if no people were involved, IMHO. I higly recommed it for ants and bees.
