you're gonna HATE me for this.

But y'see, with the Helenator on the loose and #2 a confirmed blip on the hormonal DEW line - I've undergone a kind of battlefield conversion.
*I want a Suburban.*
With tinted windows and chrome bumpers and the three-zone AC and more cupholders than a theater for foreign films.

It's baby seats y'see. Babies are small, soft and lovable. Baby seats are large, hard and ungainly. I suspect the Suburban (and its Bobbittized variant, the Tahoe/Yukon) is the only vehicle extant that is large enough to hold two of the tortoiseshells and an adult in rank, with seatbelts still operable. Spouse and I are both tall, and we are progressively looking upon slenderness with wistful nostalgia. The Big 'Burb has headroom and hiproom galore. Noooo other vehicle can boast this - specifically in the second row. I'll trade crusty gas mileage for the ability to effortlessly haul tow adults, two baby seats w/occ, two more adults and 1.5 kids of their own, THEN be able to put three strollers with associated enviroduffels in the space behind the third seat!!
Yup, I want'a 'Burb.
Friends have one with the tinted windows. From inside (and from there - What's Outside is Not Important) the tint assists mightily in cutting down the thermal consequences of lateral insolation. Of which we get a buttload in sunny CA.

Ok, flame me crispy. :-)
