CM,

May the firm with the highest price target be awarded the lucrative banking and advisory fees involving the Comverse InfoSys and DGm&S spinoffs that might or might not happen. Earnings estimates have risen dramatically and if I am not mistaken this is one of the biggest post-release upward revisions we have seen on a percentage basis. But let me double check that.

I guess nobody cares DSO's ticked up a couple of days. Inventory looked good and it appears that the enhanced services and follow on orders are driving margins higher. Nary a fly on the quarter and I bet they have nearly closed out the current quarter.

Kampai!

However I hate it when threads turn into cheerleading squads so lets look at something that could be of some concern.

I am hearing that LU will begin beta testing their new and improved version of their IMA/voicemail platform in August or September of this year. Although it remains to be seen if this product is a threat to Team Obi Wan Kobi, it is possible the potential for a Comverse killing platform will impact trading in CMVT stock over the slow and thin summer months during Paul Bakers North American Tour.

Perhaps it is even too late for this product given that Obi Wan Kobi has locked up a good deal of the installed base, but maybe LU gets to be a little more competitive on new RFP's and bids.

When LU bought Octel they also acquired the Octel PBX/CPE business that they are claiming they have grown 25%-30% over the last year or so. In any case they have done ok with that side of the Octel biz if you buy into what they are saying. All in all, this is pretty close to what I am hearing although I might of lost something in the translation.

Although I think we will continue to defeat the dark side, we must have grudging respect for the power emanating from area code (908). Perhaps it is time for Kobi Wan to pull out the light saber and deliver a death blow.

Decapitation anyone?
