freeus...re "two years of active investing"

what would you do if you lived through a truly bad market.....
buy and hold, always, yes always outperforms attempts at market timing...you speak now of learning point and figure charting, buying puts and shorting...you are a bit out of synch...the key to accruing long term wealth is not to diminish capital,or changing direction and attempting to follow the short term vagaries of the market...freeze a point in time...what was your portfolio worth on 10/9/98, or 10/28/97....did you buy on these days? did you expand margin on these market bottom days?...or did you access margin as portfolio grew and topped out....?..if you are an "active investor"...you will fail yourself and your capital if you don't acquire an iron stomach...think it through...if you are set on market timing, selling now is not the appropriate move...remember buy low sell high, buy high, sell higher...never, ever lose money....if the fundamentals are intact, don't allow mr market to bring you down...good luck, patience..unless you need the money to put food on the table! ed a.
