I very much respect folks that do such diligent research. However, I mostly choose instead to trust managers with consistent track records of success. In addition to Wetherwell, Bezos and Case come immediately to mind. I usually sleep well knowing my financial well-being is in their hands. Well, maybe not tonight, but.... <g>

CMGI's decline from 165 in 4/99 to 85 currently (split adjusted) is perfect evidence of that. On the other hand, despite CMGI's very high beta, it's not doing much worse than most of its inet bretheren right now. Your point is well-taken, however.

Also interesting comments on your take on Buffett.
