Lather, it was not the baby seat that killed the station wagon. It was the car companies, stimulating and/or capitalizing on the SUV craze. The old station wagons had just as much space inside them as SUVs have, and they could have been equipped with all the new gadgets you feel you need -- even with the sliding doors that make it easier to get baby seats in and out. The distinguishing characteristic of a SUV is that it is meant to be taken OFF ROAD. And that is why it is JACKED UP. If you must drive it ON ROAD, lower the damn thing!!
