What do you think, whole market, or AOL/AMZN/GNET/YHOO lead this?
I am,

Hmmm.. who knows. But I think the comment that someone made out here about inflation fears taking out the higher P/E companies first were accurate.

As for the overall market... I think the Fed will do anything possible to prevent an overall market crash given that so much of the American public's savings are in stocks and not in bank accounts. We'll likely see a shift of money from one sector to another, and not completely out of the market.

Right now, I'm leaning to a internet led correction, and hopefully a continuing broadening out of the market to smaller cap companies (mainly for the psychological impact having broad market participation creates).

Small caps should have decent pricing power for the rest of this year as they work overtime to meet inventory building orders from end-users. But come 1st quarter, and minus a major glitch from Y2K, small caps will suffer from a sudden drop-off of orders until inventory is burn up.

As for where we're heading eventually, I, nor anyone else, really knows. Investor sentiment is like the weather in DC. If you don't like it wait five minutes and it will change... <VBG>

Regards,

Ron
