I guess I'm a stock thread snob
who loves the "exclusivity" of SI,
after having spent the last 15
years on everything from Bulliten
Boards, College Networks, and
dozen assorted online forums.
besides, Brad Dryer is an old
Prodigy MoneyTalk BB friend
of mine, and he'd kill me if
I posted anywhere else.
It would seem that after AOL
dropped Motely Fool for it's
membership, these forums are
getting to be too easy to
duplicate, and hard to upkeep
and compete with realtime chat,
so only the very biggest like
SI and Yahoo will survive.
(Though, with the lack of reliability
and lawsuits threatened, Yahoo may
fold up their stock threads soon;
otherwise, why would they restrict
their discussions on penny stocks?)
I'll bet some financial publication
or online trading service, or web
content portal will just buy RB
at some bargin price and put
them out of their misery soon. |
