Is the RDRAM bandwidth for workstation, server, or multimedia?

There has been much discussion on the thread that RDRAM does not improve memory latency much, but rather improves bus bandwidth. Furthermore it is said that the high end desktop needs primarily less lantency rather than more more bandwidth.

I wonder if one considers the prevalence of streaming audio and video in a high end desktop if the situation for bus bandwidth requirements might change. IP telephony poularity is growing at exponential rates right now. Perhaps the drive to bus bandwidth is to fulfill a projected multimedia need of high end desktops. This new application will create new benchmarks for comparison that would reveal new adantages to RDRAM with Coppermine.
