All republicans I know want commerce with China to continue. They just don't want an atomic Pearl Harbor. China controls both end of the Panama Canal and can park their destroyers in the Long Beach, CA harbor with no official notice. They have threatened to Nuke L.A. Get the picture? Aside from that, a lot of very smart people still fear that they will be forced to devalue.
