Iggy:

You ignored the operative word qualifier: "Perhaps". (Better have your cognition checked, Iggy.)

I do not stake anything on faith. Nor am I an evangelist, but a futurist. I look at trends and extrapolate where they can lead. The great unknown is the unexpected breakthroughs.

As to time and causality, it is within the realm of possibility that time can flow "backwards". In fact, some physics experiments have hinted at the occurrence of events PRECEDING the cause, at least at a subatomic level.

In mathematical experiments it has been demonstrated that time travel is within the scope of possibility, and furthermore, the hypothesis of rotating cylinders could lead to a workable time machine. We do not have the technology to build one -- yet.

As to the search for El Dorado, that ended with the gold and diamond mines in Africa.

The search for the Fountain of Youth (immortality) will end in the achievement of youth drugs and disruption of the coded aging mechanism built into the deoxyribonucleic acid chain during the 21st Century. Plus, using your own analogy -- there ARE immortal species on Earth; the sturgeon is one.

Alchemy led to chemistry. And transmutation is accomplished in physics labs on a daily basis.

I believe that to Man's mind nothing is unsolvable. Now as far as spiritual starvation. . . Look no further than yourself. You see, Iggy, the man who sees only limitations -- the man who cries "We can't!" is a savage.
