EYE DYNAMICS REPORTS GOVERNMENTAL TALKS REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF EPS-100
Torrance, CA-Charles Phillips, President of Eye Dynamics, announced today that talks have been held at significant government levels concerning possible acceptance of its EPS-100 System. These talks are part of the Company's aggressive presentment of the product to encourage and accelerate adoption of the EPS-100 by relevant government agencies. The EPS-100 is used to detect impairment of a person's visual motor system, as is typically caused by excessive use of alcohol and other substances, both legal and illegal. The Company is seeking mandatory acceptance of the EPS-100 by various testing authorities.
The overall potential market for the EPS-100 is estimated at $3 billion annually. The law enforcement testing market, estimated at $1 billion, centers around drunk driving, which accounts for about one-half of the 45,000 annual traffic fatalities. And, with 10% of the U.S. work force testing positive for substance abuse according to the Department of Labor, the U.S. corporate/industrial testing market is estimated at $2 billion.
To address these problems, we believe the EPS-100 possesses important and superior features-is faster, cheaper and non-invasive-relative to traditional substance abuse tests. These attributes were demonstrated in independent tests in 1997 conducted through Battelle (a research institute) and funded by the Transportation Research Board, where the detection accuracy rate of the EPS-100 far outperformed four competitive systems.
Eye Dynamics is in the business of producing and marketing patented proprietary products and other services for the institutional, medical and government markets. The Company's website can be found on the world wide web at EDI-VNG.COM..
