Gavin, it is not mere "corridor talk" about Vulcan Minerals any more! John Kaiser in the January-February 1997 "Kaiser Bottom-Fishing Report" notes TWO ELEPHANT PLAYS BY VULCAN MINERALS:

(1) "... a real elephant project like Carbonear, whose geological setting is similar to that of the world-class Sullivan deposit."

(2) "... onshore oil play in Western Newfoundland."

"As Atlantic Canada investors start to focus on the Voisey Bay East play, their attention cannot help being funneled into Vulcan and its two elephant plays right in Newfoundland's backyard. Vulcan plans to start drilling 9 Carbonear targets (with Vicount) in April. The timing of Vulcan for bottom-fishing portfolios strikes me as very good."

John Kaiser, 1997, page 21

As well, The Globe & Mail have referenced Vulcan's entry into the market with some of the "Top Guns" in the Oil industry. A good account of this and other news releases by Vulcan Minerals can be read in its entirety from Vulcan's web page--

You will notice in the press clipping section a recent reference to West Coast Oil. This actual news clipping can be found at:
