To Maverick,

Although it is certainly honorable of ML and MSDW to respond to negative opinions with equally positive ones, their effect proves in 100% of the cases to be short-lived. Negative news always carries more weight than positive news and it is virtually impossible to overcome negative bias with positive spins the next day. Case in point -this ridiculous debate about interest rates. For every fact that can be interpreted as inflationary there are three or more facts which are not. Yet the three contra inflation facts are virtually ignored for the one pro-inflation fact. What so many analysts can't get through their thick heads (because their economics 101 courses told them so) is that it is possible to have economic growth without inflation. Too many economists, analysts, etc. refuse to accept this new paradigm. For them it is heresy to even suggest growth without inflation. Well we'll see. The inflation evidence is simply not there - at least not yet. Wait till the new cpi numbers come out reflecting lower oil prices (May oil is cheaper than April oil).

As for intc. all it takes is one negative comment - even in the midst of two or three positive comments to cause the stock to drop 3 plus points. It makes one wonder about the mental and emotional fortitude of those intc shareholders who sold in a panic yesterday at what I believe will prove to be the low for the year.
