Recall the observation by Corrigan several quarters ago about LSI's
complete lack of success in getting biz to fill their fab during the downturn. Now see this:

To build its customer base, Wafer Technology is taking orders immediately.
While its facility is under construction, the company will use LSI Logic's fabs,
according to Steve Della Rocchetta, executive vice president of sales and
marketing for Silterra. Much of that "bridge" capacity is expected to come
from LSI Logic's newly opened wafer fab in Gresham, Ore.

Della Rocchetta said LSI Logic's manufacturing capacity is expansive enough
for Wafer Technology to offer prototype designs to a number of customers,
and move some into volume production before the Malaysian fab comes on
line.
