Two issues from a Borders employee perspective . One , the Ingram deal being nixed is very good . No one overnights books better then Ingrams . Borders calls them twice a day for order fills and even though margins are reduced that is a small price for keeping the customer happy. There really was not any one to fill Ingrams shoes, at least no one with the total package. Second issue on Sprout is very exciting . Borders sells a ton of backlist books . I forget the percentage of books that sell only one year to date at the stores but it is larger then most people would think. The question becomes - which books do you stock ? This reprint option of Sprouts will help with that. I am not sure Sprout will be all that attractive to other bookstores but I think it will let Borders provide backlist selection without cluttering shelves. As far a digital books , that might be good for some people but there are tons of people that flock to the stores to leaf through the books. I enjoy it myself as I used to buy many books that I never bothered to read. If a book has at least a paragraph that jumps out to me then that might be a buy candidate otherwise it stays on the shelf. Hopefully this is not construed as pumping the stock, that is not my intention although I would not mind seeing my options become worth more. I really enjoy the book business and have for 10 years now. Good trading to all.
