I think people didn't think you were serious because of the amount of
sarcastic (for lack of a better word) titles of Coffee Shop threads.

I feel for you. It must be incredibly difficult and consuming for you. If you are a homeowner, why not get a debt consolidation loan? Even if the bank you're with won't help, there appear to many financial service companies that will.

Self respect shouldn't be tied to the money you earn, have or owe. You probably need to go somewhere and be alone and contemplate putting yourself back on your feet. After all, thousands of people are in your position or worse, and they manage to get back on their feet.

P.S. There was a book written about a guy, Father something or other who wasn't a father but a comedian, and he wrote to all the public companies in the U.S. and made out like a bandit. I'll try and get the name of the book. What would it hurt to write all the CEO's..you might find one who's sympathetic..seriously! It could happen!
