Larry, >>Pentium II at 300 MHz according to CNET

Thanks for the link. To comment on some of the points, but, before that, anyone, help on how you do those cool italicized quotes? For now, I'll use quotes:

"Another source said it had recently received a new 266-MHz sample of the Pentium II chip module with 512 KB of cache on the module."

Having the L2 cache (512 KB) right on that little card is not as good as having it in the same module, but it's the next best thing re speed. Also a heckuva lot cheaper.

"One source said that Intel will initially only ship the Pentium II processor on motherboards and will not ship the module by itself. This source expects to receive Pentium II motherboards in the next month or so."

Brilliant marketing strategy...gets the heart, brains and soul of the computer to the box maker all tested and ready to drop into the box with the drives... It's called time to market.

"some samples capable of running at 300 MHz."

Samples now, production very soon you can be sure, and, you know Dell, HP, IBM, etc. will be hounding Intel for those fastest units.

BTW, no chilled water cooling mentioned. Ohno, why did I bring that back. :-|
