DIAL confirmation (from Yahoo thread):

Confirmation came from telephone conversation with AFX news service as follows:

LONDON (AFX) - Shares in on-line information company Dialog Corporation PLC were sharply higher in late morning trade on speculation the group edging ever closer to the long awaited strategic deal which will significantly boost revenues, dealers said.
At 11:25 AM Dialog shares were 11 pence higher at 95-1/2 pence, a gain of 13 pct.
Dialog's purchase of 1 mln stg worth of new data storage hardware, which emerged yesterday, has fuelled speculation that a strategic deal with a large internet player is imminent, said analysts. Chief executive of Dialog, Dan Wagner, confirmed to AFX News in a telephone interview that the new equipment, purchased from U.S. company EMC, is to cover an anticipated increase in traffic prompted by a new deal.
"Is it (the equipment purchase) related to a strategic alliance? Yes it is. We are not going to tell you what it is yet, but we will soon," he said. Wagner added that the strategic deal is separate to ongoing refinancing talks with a number of banks which are continuing.
