CardioComm to develop Microsoft SQL Server Version of GEMS for large scale users

VICTORIA, B.C., June 3, 1999 – CardioComm Solutions Inc. (VSE: CCG) (the “Company”, “CardioComm”) is pleased to announce that the Company has been requested to develop a Microsoft SQL Server version of its Global ECG Management System (“GEMS”). The SQL Server version of GEMS is the next logical step to facilitate the requirements of large scale users who require large amounts of patient data to be managed and stored. The Company plans to officially launch the enterprise version utilizing the Microsoft SQL Server during the week of September 13 to coincide with the next Microsoft HealthCare Users Group conference.

The company has built a solid working relationship with Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) since 1993. All of CardioComm's software has been developed using Microsoft development tools. In addition, CardioComm has created ActiveX Controls for ECG management which are reusable modular development tools that can be incorporated into other companies' database systems / electronic patient record systems giving them the power to perform ECG management.

CardioComm's patented and proprietary ECG compression algorithm is utilized in products designed to record, analyze, and store electrocardiogram (ECG) signals for the detection and management of disorders related to heart rhythm, known as cardiac arrhythmias. The Company's software, which is Y2K compliant, enables transtelephonic monitoring of arrhythmia and/or pacemaker implant patients, and provides acquisition, storage and display of ECG information. The basis of CardioComm's management system is Mercator, which was cleared for use and sale in the United States by the F.D.A. in January. Mercator is marketed as Global ECG Management System (GEMS).

For further information on the Company's hardware and software products please contact Mr. Stephen Martin at (250) 744-1822, EXT 243 or visit the Company's website at cardiocomm.com.
