.k,

Thanks for the response.

Information that has been available from Wave in one form or another indicates that there probably will be a USB dongle with "Embassy II" capability and the ephemeral equipment availability display which disappeared from the Wave website included the item as a late '99 early '00 availability, if I remember correctly. But alas, my ancient P100 machines are non-USB. So, the inevitable replacement time is rapidly approaching anyway.

The reason I included FM-sub in my list of questions is that the WIN-TV board does allow Fm reception and, if my memory serves me correctly, some of the older (10 years) quote services used FM-sub for their data broadcasts to their little proprietary receiver/terminals. I have no idea whether they still so or if anything else does.

Clearly, the real broadcast data capability won't be realized until the higher capacity DTV broadcast facilities can be used.

The intent of my questions was to try to be in a better position to answer the question "What else can I do with the WIN-TV portion of the now-currently available WIN-TV board, other than receiving TV and FM broadcast services on one's computer?" I would assume that HAUP has some immediate applications in mind, otherwise they would not have been that anxious to get the WAVE chip onto this version of the board. For some people the availability of WAVE on the board is compelling enough to buy it; but others wonder why they shouldn't wait for some other wave-enabled device, especially if there is no anticipation of a future non-TV-watching use of the WIN-TV parts of the current analog version of the HAUP board.

Maybe someone that has purchased his or her board can let us know if there is any hint in the package enclosures.

Steve
