Well, if all gaps get filled, why do shorts ever get squeezed? If what you say is true, shorts always win, since they automatically have a second bite at covering at the gap. Simply put the buy in at the gap, wait, make the buy and see which way the mo is flowing before deciding whether or not to close the position, or ride the price down a bit below the "gap." So, I don't buy this analysis at all, particularly if news drives the market price.
