(REUTERS) RESEARCH ALERT - Amazon.com upped to strong buy RESEARCH ALERT - Amazon.com upped to strong buy SEATTLE, June 3 (Reuters) - Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. on Thursday said it had raised its rating on Amazon.com <AMZN.O> stock to "strong buy" from "buy." In a release, Volpe cited industry speculation that the online retailer would soon add toys to its current product offerings, comprised mainly of books and recording titles. The brokerage firm also noted Amazon.com stock has fallen 50 percent from its 52-week high at $221 on April 27, adding to its appeal. The stock was trading down $3.50 at $108.63 on Thursday.
