I meant from one's high: of course if one is always choosing losing stocks you're going to be doing badly. But in April I had many doubles: I should not have allowed a 100% gain to reduce to less than a 90% gain. One never knows when a large correction is coming...larger even than this one...why run stocks back down that have given you a nice profit? Dont believe in it anymore.
Or covered calls would have been wise at that point, too.
Oh well, whatever,
one of these days I'll begin to rebuild my portfolio, right now I'm just avoiding margin calls in one account and buying stocks and immediately selling covered calls in the non margin IRA account.
Eventually I'll be bullish again, which is my more natural bent.
