*OT*Tom, my DELL PC has a COMS (US Robotics) 56K voice winmodem. So far, I guess I've been lucky, and the only problem connecting to the Net was caused by the ISP, not the modem. But any PC can be flaky. And whenever you ask for help in fixing the problem, almost everyone says the problem is caused by the OTHER guy, not by us (the part maker, the box maker, the software maker, the service provider, etc.) Regards, Larry
