Meathead,

I know what you mean. That is why I have been following CPQ as it stumbles over its business model and other issues.

It is becoming ever more apparent that companies like CPQ, IBM and
Packard Bell are on their way out for inability to adapt to a new business paradigm. A billion here, a billion there and pretty soon your talking about losing real money.

IMO, DELL should stick to its long term strategy and adapt its tactics as new opportunities open up in the PC market as a result of the failures of the other companies. These slippages by the other companies just offer DELL the opportunity to move forward a quarter or two faster toward the strategic goals.

Regards,

Jim Kelley
