Park Place Entertainment Corp. Responds to Inquiries LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1999--In response to inquiries received by the company, Park Place Entertainment Corp. (NYSE: PPE) Thursday confirmed that president and chief executive officer, Arthur Goldberg, has been hospitalized with what has been diagnosed as a respiratory infection. Goldberg will be away from work for what is anticipated to be a short period of time. In the interim, Stephen Bollenbach, chairman of Park Place, will oversee management of Park Place Entertainment while maintaining his role as CEO of Hilton Hotels Corp. "We expect Arthur to make a quick recovery so he can return to his responsibilities. In the meantime, I have complete confidence in the Park Place management team's ability to effectively operate the day-to-day business and to continue their transition efforts towards completion of the Caesars transaction," said Bollenbach.
