The salient question is: if you had all your assets in cash now, would you buy intel stock, short-sell it, or do nothing? I think 95% of the people on this thread -- including the whiners like you and I -- would buy. The pain of previous losses, however, has muddled our thought processes. It's the Pavlovian effect... we expect to get hurt again. But the fact is, selling this stock at 137 is the investment strategy of a lunatic. Apparently, there was a full moon over wall street today.

I'm hoping too. And I have the advantage of being young enough not to be concerned with needing to liquidate my holdings for retirement anytime soon (or anytime not so soon, for that matter) -- I truly pity the folks who were hoping for this stock to put their kids thru college next year.

I am hoping there is not a paradigm shift under way with respect to the high-end cpu market. Everything I know about the corporations and the products tells me that Intel will retain its position -- but everything that is happening on the NASDAQ tells me otherwise.

Best of luck and hang on tight.
