I will throw this out here:

With the advent of personal RT trading, the visibility of data gave me more guts to always attempt to split bid and ask with limit orders. Within the last 6-7 months, I have made it a point to try to buy at best bid and sell at best ask. Now 90% or more of my trades occur that way. Why? I don't know. My broker, I doubt it. mainly because I trade Naz stocks, maybe. But I think it is due to simply trying it. I have always been one to pick entry or exit points, so I wanted them at my price not at MM's. it is easy, Like Houses, just make them a offer.
