Alan, In response to your post about the web-porn connection, <<I typed in, "Pain and misery", and it took me straight to the Ampex folder>>, I think I can clear up your confusion. Apparently, Ampex held the original patents to the pornograph, but they were stolen by some shrewd operators in the Far East, who then exploited the device's ability to reproduce the human form in great detail, less any artistic or educational elements.
