You should have folded when I told you. What did that cost, 100Gs? The real issue is what it is going to cost before you suddenly realize that gee whiz we have problems. But EF Hutton didn't 'splain it to you that way. All that you presumably learned has been preempted by stock market psychology. The first rule of investment is "don't be a sucker".

Do you remember how smug you were when you asserted the certainty of QCOM's rise? It blooped back up and what happened? You developed hope. Hope kills you in the stock market. You have to learn that when you get these emotions in a circumstance like currently, you have to sell. You forget about long term and other garbage. The FED has killed that and they will kill you too if you leave your flank exposed.

Consider: these stocks like ATHM and QCOM have been priced by the speculating public. The FED has suggested that they might actually have to let rates rise and so the market is adjusting to that possibility. Let's say you hang on and then they have to raise rates for real. Between then and now do you expect the public will speculatively drive prices back up to bull market highs? The institutions sure hope so because they have their finger on the sell trigger. It is a poor expectation. More likely you'll end up trying to decide whether to sell at even lower prices.
