Thanks, no, I am not interested. Institutional sponsorship frequently is not a blessing, and it is only meaningful for nascent, start-up companies. I don't think AMD fits that bill.

As a matter of fact, if or when I find out Fidelity or other momentum funds have come into one of my less-than-big-cap stocks, it will be good enough of a reason to exit--as the stock is usually left paralyzed once these ruthless cowboys have left. I am very much a contrarian in that manner.

However, big caps such INTC and MSFT have enough liquidity to withstand this kind of trauma, and I am not concerned. AMD?--I am not so sure.

PS: THe sophisticated investor would look for a stock before the big guys discover it. Once the big money is in, we are in the 7th inning already IMO.
