JFD, Could we see a deal by the weekend? IF MSFT does as well next week, a deal could easily be worked out. I bet MSFT is still willing to give up a lot at this point but if next week goes well, they may harden their position a little bit. It may be a risk the government may not want to take. Who knows. Maybe even the policiticians from Clinton to the States also want to do some "profit taking". Why risk losing up most of their gains realized from the courtroom theatrics. Would it not be better to settle is a question they are asking themselves. I bet the DOJ/States gang would love to finish like victors which would still be the case if MSFT offers concessions. It would not surprise me to see a settlement soon.
