Who the heck is Richard Band? What's his claim to fame and why should he be believed? Of course this Richard Band doesn't give any basis for his opinions. He doesn't suggest what exactly the new ceo can or is likely to do to fix the problems other than "redirect the company's marketing efforts to goose internet sales". There is simply an underlying assumption that the new guy will be able to fix the problems.

Someone in an earlier post mentioned that ep's contract prohibits him from working for a competitor for 2 years. What a shame!! The smartest thing Rosen could do is release ep from the non-compete clause and pray that Dell picks him up. What better way to torpedo Dell into oblivion within 6 months? Unfortunately, I doubt cpq's competitors are lining up to get their hands on ep.
