Glenn--

Well, the Street believes they (AOL) will start showing good earnings. And they're big; the Street likes big, too.

What I meant was that I find it extraordinary that the world's largest ISP should have so grossly underestimated customer demand for its services.

But they can be awfully dumb: about a year and a half ago Sprint launched a plan for small businesses that was called "Fridays Free": every Friday customers could make all the free long-distance and international calls they wanted. And then they were shocked, yes, shocked to find that said customers were spending the entire day Friday chatting with China and India and the like. Evidently it lost them a bunch of money and also tied up international lines. But why on earth were they surprised?
