Have the "junior MM's" that are suppose to be heavily short DMEC run out of capitol? The MM's have tried repeatedly to slow trading and drive the price back down. They have not accomplished much as far as covering their shorts. Another tactic would be to spike it upwards, short a lot more shares and cover when the stock drops again. Could it be that the MM's that are now short simply don't have the capitol to short heavily at a much higher price? Hence, they are trying to hold the line here. With the recent buying pressure it would have been so easy to let it run.
