In a rare moment of participation in such matters, I would agree with your clause: "Don't leave us... ", DownSouth, but I would eliminate the caveats. You wouldn't want AHhaha here if he dropped the qualities that you would leave out.
This thread should retain Dr. Ahhaha with a no-escape, non-compete clause. When he goes away for a couple of days, mediocrity kicks in in grand fashion, immediately, with 'I'm okay, you're okay, we're all okay' establishing itself as the theme of the day. We're not all okay on most matters at the same time. And even in those finite niches where we are okay, we need to exercise contingency measures, just to ensure that they still work.
The subject does a public service here, keeping everyone, including me [especially me in some matters technical], on their toes. I say bravo! to that.
So... he bends a few optical beams every now and then. It's good for the digestive system, and assists in regularity. I see nothing wrong with that.
