Good Morning, Sam
I've apologized to Mark, and regret if I misunderstood your words: "Believe in a God if you will ... Have a religion if you desire" as indicative that you exempt yourself from such beliefs.
I did not say you hate God but said the doctrine of eternal torment produces haters of God, atheists and agnostics. I could probably say you strongly dislike the Bible and consider it myth ... would I be right? Could I say you hate the God of the Bible?
It would be difficult for you to make the case that I'm a sneaky liar. I sold my last business for 7 figures to a smart Jewish competitor who never checked the books or sent in an auditor. Because I'm known to tell the truth I've been able to conduct substantial business deals on a handshake, lawyers unnecessary.
Do you have any good news for this thread other than hostility toward Christianity? Whatever their understandings may be, research proves that the religious have:
1. Better marriages, happier sex lives 2. Fewer suicides 3. Less depression, greater optimism and satisfaction with life 4. Lower abuse of drugs 5. Fewer divorces 6. Less alcohol abuse 7. Reduced premature death
Sam, I hate religious falsehood as much as you do. But I respect any with deeply held religious conviction, even if they sneer at me. What are your convictions, Sam?
