Sanyo> Dow Jones Newswires Sanyo Electric To Sell CDMA Handsets To Shisegi Telecomm TOKYO -- Sanyo Electric Co. (SANYY or 6764) of Japan is to sell code division multiple access, or CDMA, phones to Shinsegi Telecomm Inc. of South Korea, the two companies said Friday. CDMA phones, noted for their high sound quality, use digital cellular phone technology developed by Qualcomm Inc. of the U.S. The sale will be possible because of South Korea's end of an import ban on Japanese electronic products July 1, the companies said. The companies didn't provide any information on the financial terms of the agreement.
